Our Story

At The Bread Shop, our team is driven by passion and expertise. Co-owner and Head Baker Lauren Donati discovered her love for baking at the age of 10 and has since honed her skills at renowned institutions like Johnson and Wales University and Clear Flour Bread. Her dedication to quality is the foundation of our artisan creations. Co-owner and Store Manager Margaret Shimek brings a strong work ethic and a commitment to service, drawing from her background as a Registered Dental Hygienist. Together, they embody the spirit of our bakery, creating a welcoming place where quality and community thrive.

We aim to provide our customers with a local whole grain bread experience that allows them to feel connected to our community, family and the products that they are eating. Our business takes pride in using natural, local ingredients whenever possible and forming connections with local small businesses and farms who share the same appreciation for good food and great bread. 

 

We can promise that you will prefer to enjoy our fresh baked artisan breads and pastries over the processed products that you can find at the grocery store.
